She was only here because she was asked, only agreed so she could play the part she was given. She was meant to play the role of a weapons advancement specialist, but instead she was playing babysitter. How was it that someone, who was meant to work with weapons all day could manage to hurt themselves with the very weapons they worked with. She did not want to be the one to deal with the problem but was made to when the supervisor of the group asked her to. She could not just say no, so she agreed to take the young man that had injured himself to the nearest medical facility. She deemed the injury as not being too bad, but the guy was screaming in pain so much you would have thought that he had cut a leg off, instead of shooting it.
She took him in her car and drove him over to the medical building, since he was inured with a prototype she couldn't allow just anyone to fix him up. Luckily before she left she was given a list of names of doctors that would work under the understanding that they were not allowed to share any information with the public. The doctor that was called to their room, a large room normally used for surgeries. The list said the doctor Fieraru would be good enough, and luckily was available. They did not have to wait long, which was good since the guy was still whining and bleeding all over the floor. Levy paid little mind to what was going on, until finally Miss Fieraru entered the room.
"As you were probably informed, we need you to fix him up, quickly and quietly, as ordered by the military board." Levy really had no more to say, she would stick around to make sure all went as planned and then return to her earlier task.

a neverending fantasy Elise was actually not busy today. It was a fine break from the surgeries and the checkups she had to do, so she was doing the only thing she possibly could do in this situation - slack off. It was a little irresponsible of her, but it was a nice way to blow off steam. She felt as though she deserved a break, every once in a while, even if it was in the office and she was technically still available for last minute things.
She couldn't help being a bit surprised and a little alarmed when she had been called up for some emergency surgery. Elise didn't mind it, she never minded it. She was happy to help, but she couldn't help but wonder about that bullet... in his leg. How in the world did that happen? She tried to prepare quickly, they were probably in good hands now that they were here in the hospital.
She entered the trauma room, which was thankfully stocked with bandages and other medical equipment, and not to mention warm. "It shouldn't take too long." He was still bleeding, did no one think to stop the bleeding of all things? "Please calm down, take deep breaths. Lay back, thank you."
Then she does the medical thing.

Did anyone think about helping him? Maybe, but Levy was surely not one of those people. She was asked to watch him and bring him over for medical attention not to take care of his problem. She waited as the doctor took to treating the man, she even found some interest in watching her work. The would was quickly cleaned, stitched and covered. Once everything was taken care of the man was finally able to relax. As if on cue as soon as he relaxed he passed out.
"Looks like he had a bit too much excitement, or it could be the blood lost. Do you have private room you could place him in." Now she was free, but before she left she needed to make sure the doctor was going to cover anymore bases. "Is there anything else that need to be done?." he hoped there wasn't any paper work, otherwise she was just fishing for a reason to leave.

a neverending fantasy Disinfect. Clean. Try not to mind the person watching her. Honestly, what was she going to do, accidentally kill a person? Elise was more careful than that! It's not like she'd sabotage anything. She wasn't that kind of person. Could she not be trusted, or anything?
No, that kind of thinking would get her killed, and paranoid. Best just let it be.
"Of course, would you like to help me move him?" He was out now. It was just the two of them. Elise thought to maybe ask a question or two. But... but that was a bit dangerous, maybe it was confidential or something.
"Oh! Well, there's of course the hospital papers, need to sign those in order to keep him here, and then we'd have to contact his family as they'd probably want to know what happened. Also keep a close eye on his condition, in case I've screwed something up." But she didn't screw anything up, probably. "You might want to contact your superiors and tell them everything's okay?" ___

"Help you?" The question almost felt foreign leaving Levy's lips. Why should she help the doctor? Couldn't she get some lowly staff to help out later after she left or something? She really did not see any reason why she should help. After all this women had no rank over her, nothing that she owned her, so once again why For now Levy just gave Elise a very emotionless deadpan look to show that she was not in the mood to be "helpful" after all she had already did her good deed for the day. She had went out of her way to bring mr. stupid to the medical building, maybe she should have just left him to bleed. Sadly if she had done that then she would have had to explain to her "boss" why someone died of blood loss in the middle of the hall way.
She shrugged at the mention of calling her superiors, they were the ones that sent her over so of course they already had an idea of what was going on. "His family will be notified by my department, and I will let my superiors know everything when I return. What paperwork needs to be done? There shouldn't be much, not like we've never had to send you a injury or two from my department before, though most were not from self injury. Speaking of, does it look like he did it on purpose or accident? My superiors were very interested in finding out if there was a way to determine that." That was a lie, or well maybe not a full one. Her bosses in charge of weapon advancements would hardly care, but those back at Delta would. After all, if someone was hurting themselves just to get out of work, then there would be a good reason behind it. |

a neverending fantasy Oh. The woman seemed less than pleased with the suggestion. "Oh, nevermind, forget I asked." Was that a sheepish grin on her face? Elise was a little embarrassed, hopefully no one noticed. It was only the two of them there, but even so, she felt self-conscious. As she would with anyone, really. How could she be acting like a schoolchild who was trying to impress their teacher and turn out to be absolutely wrong on the subject?
Her presence was stifling. Not in a bad way, of course, it was just sort of uncomfortable and unusual. They were just there, an unconscious body with them, of course, but otherwise alone. It was always awkward to greet a stranger and such. There was always awkward silences. And it seemed like this woman didn't talk much. "Well, we'd need to admit him to the hospital, bill him, and the like. Also, you'd need to sign him in. It's not much, that's true."
Elise did look at her a little quizzically before realizing, oh yeah, she was still a bit embarrassed, and turned away. Why in the world would someone want to shoot themselves? "I don't think so. The way he was whining and in pain, it doesn't seem intentional. I'd have to check on his mental health, though it's not my expertise. Nothing suggests it was intentional, except the fact that he shot himself, and he's trained at weaponry. Might've been the way you're handling the weapon? Maybe it was different from the standard?"
She was digging for information, just a little, and trying to be subtle. Just for human curiosity, that was all.

Questions, and then more questions. Levy was starting to think that she was never going to leave this room. She still had other things to do before she could call it a day. More people to look over, weapons to poke, and names to write done. Then, only then would she go home, or at least what she was calling home for now. Get some rest and then do the whole thing over again. Not she minded the work, but to be fair, if she had her way, watching some techies wouldn't be her idea of fun work. Still she did it, because it was the job she was given, it didn't help that she was sure that if something bigger came up then she'd just be called to do that instead.
"Do you even know how these government medical emergencies are ran?" She found it hard to believe that this woman did not figure out what was going on.
"You got called over cause you were trusted to stay quiet, you treated someone in a undisclosed area of your medical building and now you want paperwork signed? You must know how this works by now, you can do all that paperwork yourself, my job was to bring him over, make sure he didn't meaningfully hurt himself and that is that. His family may or may not be contacted mattering on what my bosses decide, we are just the pawns, let the higher ups deal with the rest." She sighed, feeling a bit at a lost for how this octor could be so.. so.. Levy had no words.

a neverending fantasy She was still new at this. Elise was very new at this. And she was even more embarrassed now, getting told off by someone. "I'm sorry." She kept murmuring under the breath. It seemed now that the woman was more angry at her than anything, and she felt the urge to want to escape the situation. Somehow quietly slip out, despite the fact that it would be absolutely completely obvious.
She should learn to hold her ground one day. That one day was not today, as she felt weak and vulnerable and oddly hurt. She didn't know why. "They barely told me anything, just said it was a quick surgery and it needed to be done quick." There was a short briefing. He shot himself at work and he needed the wound to heal. The bitter details weren't said. She wasn't exactly the most experienced or even the most influential.
She tried to sound upbeat next words she spoke. Only Elise couldn't find words to speak with. She just... didn't know what would be appropriate at this time. She didn't really want to be ridiculed again, and she could tell neither one of them really wanted to be here. "I'll... I'll go call an assistant and put him in his room." Assuming there was one prepared. "You can go now, if you wish. I promise, I won't cut him open and watch him bleed out." Goodness, there was so much blood in the room from the open wound before the surgery, you'd think there'd actually had been a murder.
Well no. There was not enough blood.
But Elise did kind of want to hide her embarrassment. Especially from her.

Barely told anything? Did that really matter? After all to Levy things looked pretty self explanatory. Side room, one doctor, no staff, called over all hush hush, yea to Levy only someone really daft could be slow enough to not figure this all out. She only shook her head as if she was fighting off saying anything mean to the other women. Maybe, just maybe if Levy looked at things another way she could forgive this women for making things harder then it had to be. The only excuse she could come up with was that the women was so new she just hadn't been put into a situation like this just yet. Levy was willing to give the doctor the benefit of the doubt and just carry on withe the rest of her day, even if some needless time was being taken away from explaining how things worked.
"No its fine, I should probably stay long enough to make sure that everything is cleaning up and he is moved to a private, guarded room until my superiors give notice of what else to do. After all, he was dealing with some important work, I need to make sure the blood is properly cleaned up and no one visits him or lets him leave." She pulled out her own communication device, it was only used for work, and even then only to contact the Task Board back in Delta. Although in both word and deed she was working in Alpha, her real ties were with Delta, and she would always inform them of any strange happenings within the department she was placed in, this incident counted. As Elise worked on calling for help Levy would take the chance to call her higher ups in Delta, give an update and suggest a guard be posted until the young man woke up. Then they could find out what really happened. Until then Levy would do as she said, and maybe rope this "newbie" of a doctor to keep her updated on any news or changes.
Once Elise returned with an assistant Levy decided to ask a question or two. "When you get him into a room, I will need the room number and a list of who will be allowed to enter him room, only the necessary staff should be allowed for the time being. Once you get this mess cleaned up, I'd like to speak with you in private doctor, maybe in your office, if you have one?"

a neverending fantasy Elise was grateful for the brief escape she'd gotten from getting an assistant to help her. She could collect her thoughts for a brief moment, as jumbled as they were. All she had to do was take a couple of deep breaths and calm down. She could handle this shame she was feeling for the next couple of minutes before the woman was left to her own devices and she could go back to her regular work. "I'm sorry, it's a bit bloody in there, but I need to get him to his room right now." She was even apologizing to her assistance over blood that should be a normal thing in hospitals.
She couldn't help but find it strange that someone who accidentally shot himself (she ruled it an accident because no one in their right mind would shoot themselves, right?) would have to be so monitored, but she wasn't the expert here and she told herself she wouldn't ask anymore questions and make a fool of herself. Again.
Elise really did want to talk more. She was displeased and a little taken aback that the woman even wanted to see her more. But no more questions, right? "Of course, my office is down the hall, turn left, midway through the hall you'll see it to the right, has my nameplate. Can't miss it. You're welcome to wait there while I finish up." She busied herself and her assistant bringing him to his private room, and then helped clean up the bloody mess that was the operation room.
She was really dreading this meeting, because she could just feel the embarrassment that was to come. But it was her office, and Elise figured it was probably not smart to keep the lady waiting. Come to think of it, what was her name? Much as she delayed, Elise could only find so many things to do. Double check the patient's stability, triple check, clean the blood, shuffle around the halls. Of course, the first thing she said when she entered her own office (kind of nervous, what a turn of events), was inquiring about the woman's name.

Down the hall? Well then at least Levy would have somewhere to wait until everything was settled down. She followed Elise instructions, finding her way to the office and letting herself in. The wait wasn't long, and once meet with the doctor again she was asked a very simple but interesting question.
A name? Ah yes she happen to forget the part about giving the good doctor a name. Well since Levy had a 'different' life when in Alpha she also picked up a different name, used mostly at her job and to cover her tracks in times like these. Lana, yea that was her name, at least for the time being, so it made sense to share this name. "Lana." Simple and to the point, that was how Levy worked most of the time, and she wasn't about to chance for this one person. "If I remember correctly, you are Doctor Fieraru?" She wasn't sure if she was saying the name right (she had only seen it on paper and heard maybe once, but she knew she had a good understanding if how it might sound.)
Now that the names were out of the way she did have some work to do before she could go home and take the rest of the day off to relax. Levy found the nearest chair to take a seat before she continued talking with the Doctor. "So as I was saying, due to the nature of our jobs he needs to be looked over carefully, but for his health and mental state. That is why I ask that you make a list of those that will be treating him, and any visitors we may allow. For now just keep him fixed up and resting, my bosses will contact the hospital later of course with more questions and information. Other then that, I just need to make sure that you understand that this situation must be handled with care."
