EDUCATION "What is the education system within the Biome?" Within the Biome, only two sectors have a schooling system. The first lies within the Alpha sector. Individuals from across the biome come; some commute while other temporarily move to use their school system. Elementary school is pretty standard. From kindergarden to eighth grade individuals learn about the basis of society. From agriculture importance to the idea of unity within a sector the courses teach the children about the biome as well as the foundations of skill sets they may need for the future. Subject matter is a little bit more specific as individuals are taught a much wider variety of subjects as school days are much longer than current society. This schooling is offered to any individual within the biome but families of poverty or very far distances such as many within the gamma sector may have difficulty getting to these schools. Students must apply to attend high school, acceptance is based on the families individuals come from as well as the career path they are interested in. Most individuals are accepted into high school and enrolled into programs and courses that would suit this career path, there is no real room for floaters as they end up working mundane labour intensive jobs usually. High school within the Alpha sector usually consists of future researchers, doctors, politicians as well as some less academic careers. HIgh school lasts four years where only those seeking competitive career paths may choose to go onward to university where they are selected and do not actually apply. As a whole university lasts two to four years depending on their area. Strictly academic they learn via lectures, tutorials as well as shadowing professors and finally by their own independent learning. It is not that different than modern day university but there is much political tension as well as an unspoken pressure for results and success. The Delta sector also has high school in which individuals enrol to join the security board. This training expands some knowledge of the biome but also focuses on situational training, physical training as well as combat training. Some individuals within this board get scouted to join other boards but for the most part, upon graduating they join the security guards scattered through out the biome. Not every individual goes to school, some can not afford getting there while others have no interest. There is also the option of homeschooling or being an apprentice. There are many job opportunities throughout the biome and every character may have gotten there a different way so keep this in mind when planning out your characters. CURRENCY "How does money and currency work?" The money system within the biome is very spotty to say the least as there are different classes within each sector which reflect on the money system. As a whole the biome does not heavily rely on money, it generally relies on social status mixed with money. Any perks, pleasantries or gifts and such may be purchased with money, usually in the form of chipped cards or a chipped wrist if they are 'wealthy'. Coins and paper money are non existent but items still hold their worth. ALPHA - Within the Alpha system everyone is middle class for the most part. There is fluctuation within the middle class depending on the jobs individuals hold as people range from students to high ranking researchers. Most individuals within the Alpha sector use chips within their dominant wrist to spend money. For the most part a persons class is determined by the job they hold; more respectable jobs yield nicer houses, nicer possessions and overall a better way of life. BETA- The labour board tends to be made of lower class individuals. This being said the affairs board is made up of upper class man. The gap in between these two classes is very steep as there is very few true middle class individuals. Money is used strictly for perks and nothing more. Most upperclassmen have a chip within their dominant wrist while lower class man may have debit cards yielding their chips. GAMMA- The gamma sector is by far the poorest sector as there isn't even a plastic chipped system in place. They strictly use a bartering system to exchange goods; all members of the gamma sector are poor excluding the black market and the squadron members. As a whole the squadron members rarely leave the gamma board but since they are risking their lives in the name of the whole biome they do have chips within their wrist with an unlimited amount of currency if they are visiting another sector. DELTA- This sector is made up of middle and upperclassmen. Money is usually exchanged using debit cards but some higher classes may be chipped. Perks are usually hard to come by within the delta sector due to its very drab atmosphere but anything could be found if you looked hard enough. Even material belonging cost something FASHION "What is fashion like within the biome?" Fashion throughout the biome usually is made up of uniforms of varying stature. As a majority of individuals spend their time in the work force they are seen dressed in appropriate attire. Business casual is also very common as there is a constant pressure to be conservative in everyday society. Within Alpha, white lab coats are very common along with soft greys and neutrals. Casual wear is rarely seen but is usually conservative and sleek looking. They wear their identification badges with pride on their breast or shoulder clearly on display. They tend to always look very well put together and 'clean'. Individuals within this sector tend to accent their clothing choices by adding pops of colour to contrast the very neutral sea of people. Beta is very mixed as it is a congregation of individuals from every sector usually. Identification badges are still worn but less attention is brought to them. These individuals constantly dress buissness casual if they work within the main strip; if not they wear varying uniforms such as maroon jumpsuits for lumber workers or forest green agriculture farmers. Accessories are currently very popular within this sector as well. The Gamma sector tend to sport very dirty, grungy looking clothes that tend to be revealing by social norms. By far the loudest of all the sectors there is always individuals drinking and yelling so formalities are almost non exsistant. Identification badges are rarely seen unless in the presence people of power. Squadron members wear similar uniforms to the guards within every sector. Clad in form fitting armour usually of darker coloration. Their weapons always on display. Their armor tends to be light as they required to move fast in their line of work. Some squadrons have chosen to wear different armor or matching colour schemes but the basic model is quite plain. Finally, in Delta most individuals wear plain coloured clothes but for the most part these clothes are the most 'modern day' looking. They are a bit more reserved but for the most part fashion includes layering and buissness casual. Work uniforms clearly display identification badges as well as a majority having soldier tags. Armour depends on position but for the most part they wear black or dark grey with utility belts. Vests are very common as are combat boots. RELIGION & CULTURE "Does religion hold any power within this culture?" Religion within the biome has lost its power within our setting mostly due to culture changing slightly. Problems and prejudice within our society is non existent within the biome. Sexual orientation no longer causes death, sexism is no longer a serious issue and racism no longer exists. For the most part society has been removed of these toxic notions, why would anyone care about skin pigmentation? Instead individuals are exposed to a more dangerous, oppressed life style. Generally the hatred that we put towards other humans is transferred into hatred of potentials and rule breakers. Needless to say many live their lives in fear; gay people, black people, white people, males and females are all in the same boat. As far as religion goes individuals are allowed to believe in anything they wish as long as it does not impede with their day to day lives. Converting individuals would become a problem but personal religion is ignored for the most part. This being said wasters do follow a religion that society hasn't really looked into. They are strictly religious as their deities are said to answer their prayers unlike religions that humanity has been devoted to in the past and present. MADE BY KIROUKO OF GANGNAM-STYLE |
