REQUIRED READ | 04. ALLEGIANCE A character's allegiance, to whatever sector they're loyal to, comes with certain privileges and consequences. As a whole most characters are loyal to the main branch of their own board while others may be part of one board but loyal to another. Below are a list of all the available allegiances as well as the statistic alterations they provide. Please note, statistic modifiers apply once a character is accepted; if a character changes allegiance throughout their life in character they will not lose or gain any modifiers. Please note the exception is with the additional allegiances as posted further down. RESEARCH STATS - +1 PER, +1 SRC Found mainly within the Alpha Sector, this allegiance has dedicated their lives to research advancement using intellect and observation. Although there are many branches within the Research Board, as a whole those who have a desire to learn and a hunger for knowledge tend to be find themselves loyal to the Research Board. Years of education and observational analysis have given these characters their statistic modifiers. Although characters within this allegiance tend to not be valued fighters they are rather useful when it comes to discovering hidden secrets, government scandals and more importantly, if given the right opportunity, have access to new plot information. A lot of these characters lack political power and are forced to perform tasks they may not be proud of causing them to question the system they must have faith in. The biggest moral question within these individuals is commonly "How much do I not know?", intelligent minds pose a threat to society and therefore are under a lot of constant pressure to produce results but not ask questions. POLITICAL STATS - +1 DEX, +1 RES This board is rather diverse, from lower class farmers to figures of political importance these individuals have a strong sense of where they belong. This allegiance has a determination that keeps them going regardless of the risks, although one end is overly educated while the other may not be able to read they both share a loyalty to maintain their loyalties to the greater good of the biome. These individuals may not be happy with their place or may even thrive for something different but they know they must pay their dues like everyone else. With resources at their fingertips it is a constant temptation to try and delve into matters that are not their own as they are replaceable. Mostly found in individuals loyal to the Beta Sector these individuals often find themselves with a moral struggle to censor themselves as their ideas will be their downfall. These individuals have an illusion within themselves that they as a person may change the world for the better, these ideas are the reason there is a high degree of surveillance and disappearances. Characters within this allegiance have the opportunity to affect not only society but have resources available that could change them as a person just out of arms reach. Members who are looking for major internal dilemmas should consider this allegiance as it is the characters' choices that will shape the actions of those around them. PURGE STATS - +1 SPD, +1 POW These individuals are known throughout their sector, charged with missions that are 'impossible' these skilled and trained humans have a sense of duty and confidence somewhere within their core. These individuals were not always loyal to the Purge Board, as these individuals come from throughout the biome and usually reside within the Gamma Sector. Scouted by officials for showing promise these individuals show colourful life experience and on a day to day basis confront death and walk away as a truculent survivor. Although there is a wide degree of personalities within one loyalty, they tend to be loyal to themselves first and then loyal to the cause before their friends and families. These characters are the least attached to their allegiance as there is minimal surveillance allowing them more freedom. These characters allow members to really push what is and isn't known to the site as their discoveries, although very difficult, can yield the most ground breaking discoveries. Characters tend to be very balanced as the constant presence of danger makes them very exciting but requires members to not only be active but also require a greater understanding of information present on the site. This is the most 'short-term' rewarding group as death is always a possibility, unrealistic choices can cause death as members are forced to have a realistic grasp of what their character is capable of and who they are as a person. Members interested in constant action and a very strong understanding of concepts on the site are encouraged to consider the Purge Board as their allegiance. This group also has a very high demand for other individuals to RP with them, check out any wanted ads that may be posted as danger is more fun in groups. ARMS STATS - +1 STR, +1 CON These characters are scattered throughout the biome but remain loyal to the Delta Sector. Usually born into the allegiance they lack an understanding of society as a negative consequence to oppression. Never one to ask questions but simply perform and complete their task upon a simple request from someone they have never met. These individuals are skilled in killing and detecting abnormalities within the system. These characters are as involved in the plot as much as they wish to be, they can simply perform their jobs and ask no questions or listen to their moral compass to start making them question society. Although many years have been used serving their biome their biggest moral question tends to make them question what is actually right and wrong. Following instructions for the greater good can cause individuals to really feel the blood on their hands that they have accumulated. These characters are in a position where they can go any direction members wish them to be swayed in, character development is most rewarding within the Arms Board mainly because they interact with individuals much different than who they are. These characters tend to change allegiance all at once, many doubts building up over time before jumping ship. Members wishing to put their characters in harms way while still playing with their moral compass are recommended to try out the Arms allegiance. It is always easier to shoot before thinking.
