ALARIC BISMARCK TWENTY-NINE - MALE - SQUADRON 11 MARSHAL - ★ FRIENDS If you can get past the starkness and creep-factor of his pale gray eyes, be my guest. Initially, he comes across as rather callous and unfeeling, but there's a genuine guy underneath all of the layers of emotional armor, I swear. Impressing him through unexpected displays of kindness or leadership will garner his attention. You'll know it because one of his slanted eyebrows will raise and those full, pink lips of his will form that smug, lopsided smirk. He loves and cherishes his Squadron members because they are his little troopers, and despite being rather young for a Marshal, they follow his word as law. ENEMIES He's rather impartial on first glance as he's not explicitly judgmental. A fair warning, just don't get on his bad side; he can be quite malicious when he wants to be. Pretentious people, boastful and swaggering asshats, pessimistic killjoys, and good-for-nothing scumbags are among the range of his antagonists. He will go out of his way to make these sorts of people miserable through off-hand, condescending remarks or deliberately putting them in uncomfortable situations. They bring out his sadist side. Just don't do it...promise? LOVERS Alaric has never really engaged in any sort of romantic relationship, if not for a lack of options back home. Pulled from his home at the ripe age of seventeen only to endure years of strict training, there wasn't much time for love. He's currently dedicated to his work, so he's not exactly the most emotionally open nor emotionally stable partner. Love isn't entirely out of the question for the stone-cold Marshal, however. I envision him trying this love thing for the first time with an attentive and receptive partner who can see through his tirades. I'm pretty open to whatever ideas you may have, so yeah. 'Pretentious people, boastful and swaggering asshats, pessimistic killjoys, and good-for-nothing scumbags are among the range of his antagonists.'
Pretentious, boastful, swaggering asshat reporting for duty. The persona Alex is using around Gamma is likely to be one of the most irritating people Alaric can meet. Maybe Alex stitched him up sometime? Or they met in a bar, I do want to try 'Rhys' as an asshole drunk sometime.

Having them meet in a bar would be the most fun. Alex can be an asshat all he wants. It'd be a late night at a shabby bar, and Alaric's had a few beers. He'd be speaking coarsely and feeling lonely. They'd definitely not have drunken hate sex, no never. I'm feeling this and the muse is like coursing through my veins. Do you want me to make the first post?

I'm going to go out on a whim and say that Alaric and Gwen have been working together for a while. I know I haven't specified it in her bio (its actually pretty bare-bones, now that I think about it), but Gwen has been the General of Squadron Eleven for nearly five years now. She was young when she was recruited to the Purge Board and made her way through the ranks of the Squadron rather quickly. Maybe she and Alaric ascended into power together? Since they are similar people, I can imagine when they first met they were wary of one another, naturally. In my experience, most characters with strong personalties that are also fairly reclusive tend to have passionate relationships as well: they can feed off each other constructively or be the detriment of the other.
Since both Alaric and Gwen are natural leaders and care a lot about their Squadron, I think they'd would have a strong respect for each other. I like the idea of Alaric being the only person that Gwen trusts. Maybe in the past during a particularly suicidal mission, he saved her life? That would have rubbed Gwen the wrong way for so many reasons - being in-debt to the man, being so weak in a moment that she required saving, and her feminist attitude just to list a few - but maybe she would have saved him at some point as well?
Basically, they are badass. And friends. She views them as equals in virtually every respect, including their morality. Since Alaric also know her so well, he could potentially be suspect that she might one day abandon the Squadron to peruse her vendetta. Gwen would never outright say that she would want to bring the government down, but Alaric would notice and over time piece together that she would want to take action. Just a thought though! And speaking of thoughts, if you're up for it, I can genuinely see Alaric and Guinevere becoming lovers as well. Not in the fleeting sense, either. It would be a powerful and passionate relationship, at least in my mind.
I'm sorry I wrote you a novel. Feel free to make of it what you like, I am open to anything that involves Gwen and Alaric together <3

No worries, I like reading novels. ;)
I figured they would've been working together for quite some time. I could have seen them being rather closed-off from each other initially but then eventually warming up through all the camaraderie that comes with being teammates. I'm glad we got across that they have some history together. Personally, I'd think they would have boosted morale when in each other's presence just because they've been working together for so long.
I'm ambivalent about the whole "indebted to you for saving my life" thing. I'd much rather roleplay something of that nature than have it be a figment of their backstory. Alaric isn't so happy with the way the government has been running these days either. He remains loyal though, if only because of his duty. So that could lend itself to some development. Honestly, I see them as being more like brother and sister—platonic life partners, so to speak. I'm sorry if that shatters your dreams, but it's a little less cliché in my mind.
How would you feel about them taking the "AMBUSHED" quest together in the Gamma Sector? Because I foresee some kick-ass bandit killing. :D

Firstly, I am so sorry for taking forever to reply! I promise I'll never be this tardy again. Anyway...
I understand how you see Alaric and Guinevere more as siblings rather than lovers. The more I think about it, the more I agree with you as well. Realistically neither of them have time for that kind of intimacy at this point, anyway. At least in Guinevere's case. "Platonic life partners" would be a great way to describe their relationship, and I would love to throw these two together soon to develop and flesh-out that relationship. On that note, "AMBUSHED" would be perfect! I'd be happy to take up the quest either before or after threading. Kickin' ass will happen either way (:
